Fencing is going to be at the Beijing Summer Olympics 2008 from August 9 to 17.

So I’ve been hearing terms like piste and FIE. What do these terms mean?

Well, piste is the term for the area where the fencing takes place. This playing area is 14 meters long and between 1.2 and 2 meters wide. Fencing champion Emily Cross was asked in an interview what she thought of getting rid of the narrow piste and having a more square area of play. She thought that might be interesting and really change the strategy.

And what is FIE? That stands for Federation Internationale d’Escrime (International Federation of Fencing).

Here is a list of the 2008 Olympic fencing events. I think it will be really fun to watch, don’t you?

DeAnna and Jessie Create deannaandjesse.com

DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak, the happy couple from the Bachelorette, have put up a website, deannaandjesse.com.

I think that is so sweet.

I thought Jesse was the one who was going to be chosen by DeAnna. I can’t always tell, but DeAnna was so transparent. Her emotions were always written all over her face. You could just tell by looking at her expressions when she looked at Jesse, that she was in love.

I really like Jesse too. Jason was nice too, but he was a little “too” perfect, kind of like my ex-husband. Jesse was more himself, whereas I felt that Jason was hidden by his own “nice” facade. I don’t think he was doing this on purpose, I’m sure he was fooling himself too.

Anyway, I wanted Jesse to win, and he did. I am just such a sucker for romance!

I wish the happy engaged couple well, and I’m glad they have put up the website deannaandjesse.com so that we can all follow along and see how they’re doing.

Micro Mini Maltese Puppy

Today my dog Cinnamon and I were out wallking and a lady in my apartment building was out with her Micro Mini Maltese Puppy. A Maltese is really a cute dog, with long white hair.

You can see a whole bunch of Maltese pictures here.

Maltese This one on the left has the long hair of a true Maltese. Some of the others have their hair cut shorter, like these two here: 2 Maltese Dogs

Now here (below) is a Micro Mini Maltese. Of course, the micro minis are a lot smaller!

Micro Mine Maltese

One nice thing about Maltese is that they have hair rather than fur, so they don’t shed. They are also hypoallergenic, that is, they are easier on people who have allergies.

In fact, my dog Cinnamon, has the same kind of non-shedding hair. She is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Of course, I’m biased and think Wheatens are the best, but Maltese are pretty cute too! Especially the Micro Mini Maltese! :)

Charles Trippy in the News

Do you know who Charles Trippy is? Well, I do. Who could forget a name like that?

He was one of the two winners on “The Next Internet Millionaire” show. I watched every episode of that show. It was produced by Joel Comm, famous internet marketer. Joel was also the host. It was really a good show.

Anyway, there ended up being two winners, a young lady whose name I have forgotten, and Charles Trippy. Charles Trippy won for his expertise with video. He is really good at producing cool videos that the young people like.

On the show, he was kind of an “anti-marketer”. He hated long sales pages and other traditional marketing. I think he captured the mood of young people who don’t like to be marketed to.

I have not actually seen any of Charels Trippy’s videos, other that what was on the Next Internet Millionaire show. Maybe I should watch a few of them, but nah, I think I’m too old to really get it.
